I really
appreciate it.
Sean, I have included the pencil drawing I started with. I usually end up redrawing a picture a few times before I scan it in. I start with a thumbnail...redraw it...flip it over...redraw it, until I am somewhat happy with it or bored with redrawing it.
All of the color was done in Painter. I don't really have too much advice on it. I just got it & my Wacom a little more than a year ago and I am still trying to learn eveything it can do. A good book
is "Digital Character Design and Painting" by Don Seegmiller, though the Painter version may be out of print.
Maybe my next post I'll try to show sketch to finish for anyone interested.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16498141036338117236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4157538834113858663.post-39873994209219941972007-03-21T14:01:00.000-04:002007-03-21T14:01:00.000-04:00Really nice style. One question I have is how far along is your drawing (say this one) when you bring it in? It looks almost completely done in Painter, is it?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14244267187462451983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4157538834113858663.post-55370163302663771372007-03-21T12:46:00.000-04:002007-03-21T12:46:00.000-04:00beautiful illustration!!!!You make all your little...beautiful illustration!!!!
You make all your little creatures so huggably soft and adorable!NatGeodeZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10159010577831467044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4157538834113858663.post-30556038615470400182007-03-21T07:43:00.000-04:002007-03-21T07:43:00.000-04:00This is a great illustration. I then bump it back to 300 dpi and save it at that size. My original drawings might be a couple of inches to a full sheet of paper. I scan into a program like Photoshop (Corel Photo-paint). I also try to work in cmyk so the colors will come out the same on my printer.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16498141036338117236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4157538834113858663.post-45464016908205211662007-03-20T11:59:00.000-04:002007-03-20T11:59:00.000-04:00Scott your work is very nice, but I have a technic...Scott your work is very nice, but I have a technical question about how you scan. what image size, dpi. Do you scan into photoshop? I can never scan anything much larger then 3x3, You enlarged image is beautiful with rich detail and I'd love to show that too.Lisa Wcislohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00319912053421698935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4157538834113858663.post-45180282380449491092007-03-20T11:58:00.000-04:002007-03-20T11:58:00.000-04:00Wow this is terrific.
