IF: Highlight

Highlights in her hair. A quick pen sketch painted in Painter mostly conte & charcoal brushes.

I recently visited a local museum that was having an exhibit of original art by illustrators. There were original sketches and paintings by Maurice Sendak, Dr. Suess, Leo & Diane Dillon among others.

It was great to see the original pieces. It did make me realize that it is going to more rare in this digital age. With Photoshop and Painter and everything heading toward ebooks there will be far less "tradtional media" art. I like working in Painter (no muss & no fuss) but I do miss having something tangible to hold when finished with a piece.

I agree! How fun to see the original work by the masters~ I love the drawing here! I have a hard time going from sketch to color-sometime I feel that I lose the spontaneity.

I agree the feeling of having a finished piece in your hands is much better than having it in a computer.

Very nice! I agree..I've started having some of my digital pieces professionally printed just to have the tangible object.
